There is a very large part of modern life that is concerned with the explosion in weight gain and obesity, that can respond to weight loss hypnosis favourably, where maintream accepted methods appear to be failing miserably.
I refer to the gigantic diet and weight loss industry that has grown up around overweight people's need to stop getting larger and instead get thinner.
This industry makes countless millions of dollars cashing in on this very real need, yet in the main, is letting people down terribly in it's inability to stem the ever rising torrent of obesity figures in the populations of most developed countries.
The Diet Problem
The main problems are that people are simply unwilling to do what is really necessary to lose weight, which is to stop eating so much processed, sugar-laden food and instead eat a moderate diet of home-cooked meals made from fresh, wholesome ingredients (just NOT sugar or refined carbohydrates).
People go to the doctor to get themselves "fixed up" when things start going wrong.
However, this would not be necessary in the majority of cases if only people would take responsibility for their own health and be more mindful of what they are consuming.
How is it possible to change people's bad diet habits, when they are bombarded from all sides by the food industry's advertisements of unhealthy, high-fructose, high refined carbohydrate products that I find it difficult to even call "food?"
You may be surprised to learn that there IS a way, if you weren't already reading an article on a hypnosis website. Since you're here, you are probably not very surprised when I tell you that hypnosis can actually help a lot!

Well in this edition, I'm going to take that one stage further and incorporate it into a practical use for self hypnosis and that is into the field of weight loss hypnosis.
Weight loss hypnosis is a term that has been coined for a certain strategy of using the power of hypnosis to bring about or assist in the bringing about of weight loss. As a practitioner, I've seen just how powerful this can be first hand with many clients who came to me wanting to lose weight doing just that seemingly without even trying.
Well, there is a lot that goes on mentally when you turn this incredible ability to good use such as losing weight. Let's look at what is happening when a person uses hypnosis for weight loss.
The Right Nourishment
First of all, it should be realised that every person is hard-wired with an inbuilt program for keeping their body healthy and in good condition. As long as you nourish the body and treat it with the love and care that it deserves, then it will reward you by being healthy, long lived and happy. However, this is often not the case.
People abuse their bodies on a daily basis and still expect them to function normally and live to a ripe old age. Sorry, you can't do that and expect miracles. You have to be aware of what your body needs and what harms it before you can even begin to try to make a difference.
That means cleaning up your lifestyle.
If you don't want to do that, then don't bother reading any more, because if you are not prepared to help yourself, no one else can do it for you. Period.
If you are prepared to at least listen and take on board what you need to do, then its a start and you can make progress to becoming healthy and at the correct weight for your height and build. So you should probably read some of the healthy weight loss advice here, then come back and we'll carry on.
Once you have altered your lifestyle to eat a healthy diet, cutting out (or at least cutting down to the bare minimum) all bad foods, especially fast food and ready meals, cakes and biscuits, fatty fried foods, sweets, candies and puddings, fizzy drinks and alcohol, then you can begin to work with hypnosis to help you lose weight.
So why can't it be the other way around, you might ask?
Well, you can save yourself a lot of costly hypnotherapy sessions by first making that conscious decision to improve your life and your health first. Also, to just wade in with hypnosis to try to alter your life state before you have even decided that is what you want to do is fraught with problems, not least of which is that it may fail for you.
Hypnosis is a voluntary experience and any suggestions given while you are in a state of hypnosis must be voluntarily accepted. If you do not accept them, then they will not take root in your subconscious and they will not work for you.
I have personally sent plenty of people away from my own practice who came to me with the attitude that I have to cure them and make them lose weight before even commencing the first session. Sorry, but it doesn't work like that.
If you can't change your attitude, then go see your doctor and get some pills because that's the mind-set you have and nothing will change that. Only you can change the way you think and what you are prepared to believe.
